THE BASICS
Full Name: Captain Emerald Storm
Alias/Nickname(s): Emm, Storm-ie, Captain Insane-oo, Capt’n, That drunken lady, Cap’n-lost-her-mind, Captain Crazypants
Date of Birth: January 19th
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual [Despite the fact some question and believe her to be Bisexual due to her friendly and sometimes flirty nature towards other females, which should be noted are mostly friends or crew.]
Species: Human[Native American/English]
Occupation: Pirate Captain
Family: Lorrayna- Mother [Killed by white-English pirates] Captain Christalph Narrileng [Father- Unknown if alive or dead… Captain of the Emerald Twilight] Emerald’s crew was her family, made such by the loyalty shown to her. Since her mother people were slaughtered when she was 15years old.
Island Association: Misc [I'm figuring she comes to the island a drift waking up on the shore, alone, and completely confused. Last thing she knew she was aboard her ship, during a storm headed towards an odd radiating light in the middle of the ocean. She doesn't remember getting thrown from the ship, however this is what she's going to assume happened. It’s the only logical thing that could have happened.]
Current Residence: She’ll have to figure out where she is first, and then find a place to stay. I’m thinking though, if she comes across Captain Sparrow she’d rather stay with the likes of him. Since she’d rather familiar sort of people until she figures out what’s going on.
Appearance: She has big piercing blue eyes, which sometimes almost seem hypnotically. When she spends time port-side in the sunlight, then she tans quickly. With her jet black hair her color stands out a bit more than the others might. Sometimes she’ll wear heavy make up, mostly just her lips and eyes and other times she’ll wear none. It depends on her mood really. Sometimes, if she’s bored, she’ll braid beads and feathers into her hair. Her eye brow is pierced, although usually she only has a straight earring in it. Her ears are also pierced. She has a few tribal tattoos however they are hidden beneath her layers of ruffles and silk.

Emerald tends to where lots of frilly things. Silk, puff sleeve shirts, things with lace, corsets, leather, strip colored tights, skirts, black or dark shaded colors, arm sleeves. On occasion she’ll wear something plain or ‘normal’, but usually she’s wearing something that stands out or is exotic. She has numerous hats, all of which have feathers, or glitter, or colored leather; something to compliment her outfit, normally. Her jewelry is wide in variety, but she’s usually wearing something shiny on her hands, neck, ears, ankles, head, eyebrows, and even toes. Shoes; again she has a variety of things including, mostly, anything with a heel and tall knee high boots. She's going to be lost without her wardrobe that she's become accustomed too. However she didn't always need those things.
Personality: Emerald has a determined sort of personality. Once her mind has been made up, only one thing will keep her from getting what she wants and that is death. She can have a very serious, harsh personality if you catch her at the wrong moments or if you upset her in the slightest manner. However luckily for her crew it takes a bit to upset her, because normally she has a spunky free going outlook on things. Whether that’s the way she really is, or if it’s all a well elaborate act to hide her darker self. Nobody really knows, although many of her crew have assumed that perhaps it is, hence where the rumors come from.

She has a drinking problem, nothing that disables her ability as Captain. But defiantly she spends more time in a sort of haze than completely sober. She likes shiny things, and in that sense also has a greedy-stealing problem. She knows when to with strain herself, she just usually doesn’t. It takes her first-mate usually to keep her all proper and civilized at times. She doesn’t like the White-English men that work for the government, and she shows very little compassion for rival Pirates. She’s really just a complicated lost girl, trying to find her way free in this big bad world. OF course she has a nasty bite, to cover up all that sadness, of what happened to her mother’s people. But she covers up the bite with silly-ness and amusement. She can be a moody little thing. But she’s respected, and feared. Emerald doesn’t care which you show her as long as you don’t cross her or her crew. Mostly the woman keeps to herself, meaning she don’t let anybody in has truly loved anybody in a long while.
Special Skills: Surviving off the land, tracking, making fire, swimming, sailing, navigating by stars, a few Indian rituals, fighting with a sword, black powder pistols, bow and arrows, knowing herbs and fruits and vegetation, how to hunt and skin animals; what you’d expect any true Native American to know, but with the cunning manipulative heart of a pirate captain. If you get past all her faults she is rather loyal and would give her life for you; even if it went against pirate codes, or the ways of her people. She has the heart of a brave, and will if need be fight to the death. She speaks English and her people's native language.
Weaknesses: A mighty temper when around strangers and people she doesn’t trust, she likes her alcohol like any pirate, she takes things she wants even if those things belong to other people, she doesn’t care if she pisses others off, has a bit of a wandering mind, talks in riddles sometimes, has nightmares and never fully recovered from what happen when she was a girl. Also shiny money and other material objects. She has very little use of guns, beyond that of black powered pistols. Shiny fancy ruffled cloths, shoes, jewelry. Men; she has been known to sleep around while at port, but she has never truly loved anyone; besides the medicine man's son

HISTORY
An Indian princess by the name of Lorrayna, had taken a liking to the ocean coast; constantly wandering away from her village to bath in its waters. On a particular sunny spring day a ship came to shore, a pirate ship. It was simply looking to make trade with the people, mostly for food. The tribe was known to do friendly trade with ships that came looking for goods. However the captain took a liking to Lorrayna, and so the crew spent a few weeks vacation on the land; mingled with some of the people, and genuinely behaved. While pirates, they were respectful to a point and merely wanted a good time. After a few weeks past the Captain had gotten weary and bored and despite his attachment to the Indian girl, the sea was his truest love and he and his crew left the island never to return. A short time elapsed and the girl realized she was with child.

A beautiful baby girl was born with dark black hair of her mother’s, and her fathers’ eyes and skin. Her mother named her Emerald, after her father’s ship the Emerald Twilight. Despite the fact she was a half-breed she was still of her mother’s people, and was raised with all the respect given to the granddaughter of any other Native American Chief. She lived happily until the day white-English men came to her peoples home. Demanding food and goods, and when the Chief and Medicine man refused to give over the demanded supplies. Due to the lack of anything extra to just give with nothing to trade in return, the English-men attacked the tribe not stopping until every man, woman, and child was killed or captured as slaves.

Emerald wanted to fight to help protect her family, but the English-men’s gun powder was tearing apart the Warrior Braves, and her Mother and Grandfather instructed two of the finest Braves to hid and protect the girl, she was only 15 years old. But the men were also killed. So she ran to the safest place she knew of. A small cave on the shore, it was an underwater cavern, which had several large rooms within it; only a few of the Indians knew of it. It also happened to be the place where her mother and father first meet. She went and waited, hid, hating it the entire time.

After a few days she carefully wandered out to where the slaughter had taken place. The English-men had gone and taken everything that was of any use. The place was empty, except for the bodies. It took Emerald two full days to give last rights to everyone at the old burial grounds on top of the highest hill. She was no medicine man, but she’d fallen for the son of the tribe’s current Medicine man and so she’d carefully learned many of the ways and rituals. After tending for the dead, she spent almost two months alone, until a few merchant ships came to land. The tribe often traded when they could with ships, just like with her father’s. The men that came looking for goods found Emerald, half mad. She was able to survive using her people ways of hunting and taking care of herself. But she’d been alone the entire time, no other tribes even came to investigate the large smoke signals she’d sent out. She’d figured they’d been frightened of what could have happened, and mostly she didn’t blame them.

The merchants, whom known her, after a day or so got her to come aboard the ship. Figuring it was better than her being alone. She didn’t speak of what happened, but the men figured it out. Since it wasn’t hard considering they knew of a few ships that had been boasting of killing savages on the mainland of the Americas, taking food, supplies, and slaves. The merchant men were kind and gave her a place on ship to work. And she did so, learning the ways of sea men. Not before long she was being taught how to navigate a ship; she knew the stars better than any of the other men and soon she took a liking to it. She worked a few years on the ship, before wandering off on her own.

She fell in with Pirates, mostly looking for the men that had attacked her village. The girl was always also asking about the Emerald Twilight, and many folks knew the ship and her Captain. But never did Emerald ever find him. She did however find the ship responsible for the killings, and she slowly over time followed and stalked the men, killing them when they weren’t aware. Eventually the men thought they were cursed, and in a way they kind of were. Emerald left little clues, things that pointed back to her people; beads, feathers, and other sort of things. Eventually the men figured it out, blamed the Captain for what happened and finally mutinied against him. Figuring that was the only way to brake the curse. All those still alive abandoned ship one night while in port, the captain unaware of this. Emerald took advantage and set fire to the ship. The captain burned alive inside. She let the few men that left go without tracking them down, but it wasn’t because she’d forgiven them. But she felt her people had been avenged after the ship was destroyed. Some may have said her heart had grown cold, with the killings and stalking, but in Emerald’s mind it was what they disserved.

Afterwards she felt free of the regret and heart ache, and she felt her people could go to the happy hunting grounds, finally being released from the horrible death they all endured. And so she was also free to truly live for herself once more. She took the money that she’d stolen from the men she’d killed and the money and jewels that were on the ship before she burned it, and she had a ship built for herself. She named it the Lorrayna Phoenix and soon found a crew, and sailed her happily for 15 years. Sure at first a few men were weary of a woman Captain, but soon some hear rumors of her killing the other men, and quickly earned her respect, or maybe it was just fear. Either way, they sailed under her loyally. For any that weren’t, she quickly got rid of; in one manner or another.

While a pirate, Emerald was an odd sort. She would take from others that could afford it, and gave to those that had nothing; but she of course kept large shares for herself and crew. Emerald had always had the heart of a pirate; it just took a horrible event for her to realize it. While she sailed the waters, she also keep close to her people’s ways, the ways of the land. Like other Pirates, she was always in search of things bigger than herself. Old myths and stories of old forgotten treasures; she and the Lorrayna Phoenix were their that day when Calypso was realized. What a glorious day Emerald thought that was; since the beliefs of her people never would have agreed to trap a spirit, or goddess, in a human material form. Emerald had searched Ship Wreak Cove for the Emerald Twilight, but sadly never found it.

Last thing Emerald remembered before the island was, being awakened from her bed in the middle of the night; her First Mate calling her to deck. It was storming something fierce, but he’d seen a bright light off in the distance; just out in the water. Emerald took the wheel and sail right towards it. Then as the ship nearly reached it, everything went dark on the woman. She may have been flung and hit her head upon something hard, but she don’t remember. Then Emerald awoke floating in the water a few yards off from the shore of the island. Utterly confused as to where her ship had gone, and where she was. Far as she knew wasn’t any land masses in reach of a few days of Lorrayna Phoenix’s last location.
